RELATIONSHIPS – AN INTRODUCTION

1/11/2020

There are two things in life that are certain and from which we cannot escape – death and relationships! Most of us have a myriad of relationships as we move through life. We invite you to find the gems in these articles from our writers, and to explore what is available to us when we bring the magnifying glass to our responsibility in all our relationships.

A SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT

30/10/2020

I’ve been pondering on the sense of entitlement I have at this stage of my life, in my elder years, and it’s something I’ve seen in many older people in the past. It goes with an inner dialogue that says “I’ve worked hard all my life and now I’m entitled to ….. (fill in the blanks)”. That sense of entitlement can be directed at family –especially family – younger people, the government ... and sometimes God.

FAMILY AND SELF-ENTITLEMENT

Earlier this year I flew to New Zealand for my first ever visit there. (I had an amazing time!) A friend drove me to the airport in London as I’d sprained my ankle very badly and  was unable to drive my manual gear car. Another friend collected me at Auckland airport, so not being able to drive initially wasn’t a problem. I then hired an automatic car which was fine as I’d hurt my left ankle. I was able to drive all around the North Island.

‘HAVING SEX’ VERSUS ‘MAKING LOVE’ – A PERSPECTIVE FROM AN OLDER WOMAN!

1/9/2020

Picture
At one stage “Fifty Shades of Grey” was the hottest book around but I had no interest at all in reading it! Not because I am in my mid-seventies and therefore past being interested in ‘sex’, but because since turning sixty I have come to know the difference between ‘having sex’ and ‘making love’ and believe as an older woman, it does not involve handcuffs, the Kama Sutra or even any Tantric teaching.

LONELINESS AS WE AGE

1/8/2020

We first noticed my mother’s forgetfulness and early stages of dementia roughly six or seven years ago. I remember my father quietly speaking to me one day, saying that he was really concerned about my mother’s mental decline. He was agitated and clearly worried, which was unusual for him. This particular day he felt like a scared little boy not knowing what was coming next – yet deep down he did know.

NATURE’S RHYTHMS

1/7/2020

Picture
Returning to connection after feeling a sense of being scattered and in disarray in the initial stages of these uncertain times...

I find myself sitting in my garden in a fragmented state of being, feeling the intensity of the energy of this Coronavirus pandemonium. Such upheaval, such imbalance. Out of sync. Trying to make sense of it all.

FINDING ME

27/5/2020

I retired at age 60, and I decided to work with animals, a childhood dream. I had always felt closer to nature and animals than I had to human beings. I also felt the pull to visit Australia last year which I will tell you about.

LOOKING EVERYWHERE TO FIND MYSELF

30/4/2020

Picture
I had drifted away from Universal Medicine for nearly six years. I have never ever doubted the teachings of The Ageless Wisdom, nor God, but I was fighting my extremely wayward spirit. Then gradually by 2018 I knew that I needed to continue my journey back home and address the life of comfort that I had fallen into.

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH TRUE EXPRESSION

30/1/2020

Picture
I was one of those children who had their natural expression shut down at an early age as a result of our current education system and it is only later in life that I have reawakened my relationship with my natural expressionin a true way. What I experienced in my early school years was that teachers would never encourage the enthusiastic play-full-ness and freelance writing attempts of their young students.

A.P.E. MAN?    OR A TRUE AND TENDER MAN IN RELATIONSHIP?

29/1/2020

Picture
How does a man go about getting involved in a new relationship?

Does this usually come from a man spending time with a woman when the opportunity to do so arises, perhaps during a work event, social setting or even a family gathering and he notices something that he wasn’t expecting?
