meditation & yoga – AN INTRODUCTION

2/7/2022

What we explore in these pages are the benefits of Esoteric Yoga and the Gentle Breath Meditation®.  These simple techniques bring relaxation and stillness to the body and mind as they take us deeper within and re-connect us to our innermost being. We are then able to go into our day fully supported by the wisdom of our innermost self. We invite you to explore with us the re-connection to your own inner stillness and harmony via Esoteric Yoga and the Gentle Breath Meditation®.

CHITTA IS ANTI-JOY

1/7/2022

Picture
Have you ever sat quietly to meditate only to find you’re unable to settle because of the constant chitta-chatter of your mind, thinking about this and that, going over what happened yesterday and or anticipating the day ahead? I don’t meditate every day, but this morning I felt to and what I noticed was how quickly the chitta-chatter started up. In that moment I had a great realisation. Chitta is anti-joy.

BODY AWARENESS FOR SLEEP

28/2/2021

Picture

One of the most common causes of the inability to fall asleep or of sleeplessness in the middle of the night is an over-active mind, whether it is just your normal run of the mill thinking or the activity of worrying. We are not physically doing whatever we are thinking about in this moment, so what is the point of ‘thinking’ about it?

FULL MOON YOGA

1/10/2020

As a result of the pressures of purchasing and moving to our new home, followed by months of home renovations, I found myself in a pattern of rush and driving myself, not taking those quiet moments to re-connect back to a place within that feels still and free from anxiousness and the hardness I’d been feeling in my body.

SITTING YOGA

29/6/2019

Picture

Sitting Yoga is a form of Esoteric Yoga that is presented to participants in chairs. While Sitting Yoga is experienced from a chair, the principles of Esoteric Yoga remain the same: connection, presence and the quality of our movements. Sitting Yoga is particularly good for the elderly or anyone with mobility issues.
To make the most of the audio, set aside 10 minutes of quiet time for yourself when you won’t be interrupted. The only thing you need is a straight back chair in which your feet can touch the ground. If your feet don’t touch the ground you can place a pillow, block or book under your feet so they are resting, not dangling.

Joy of Ageing Esoterically is pleased to bring you this recording, which will support Body Awareness, conducted during a short Sitting Yoga session.
This Sitting Yoga recording is presented by Vicky Geary.

A SURPRISING PATH TO INCREASED VITALITY

30/10/2018

Picture

Most of my life, I would say I was a ‘busy’ person, and so you assume I had a lot of vitality. I was a daughter, wife,  businesswoman, mother and a volunteer in our community.  As if that wasn’t enough, I was often studying some course or taking a class. I didn’t do this with ease. I was always chasing the clock, so to speak.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH ESOTERIC YOGA

29/6/2018

Picture
When I was a young child up until about the age of nine years I remember my father would sometimes show us different exercises - postures he could do and then my sisters and I would try to do them.  It was great fun and we totally enjoyed doing something with our dad, which for me I now realise also included getting the attention I craved. I always loved doing exercises and being challenged to do even better.

BUILDING AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH MYSELF THROUGH ESOTERIC YOGA

30/12/2017

Picture
When I enrolled in my first on-line Esoteric Yoga Stillness Program for Women session, I had just retired from a very hectic and very demanding teaching career. I always had deadlines to meet and well-regulated tutorial sessions to prepare for, deliver, assess and evaluate. My mind didn’t know how to relax, nor did my body, and as a result I was in constant motion and drive to achieve ‘something’.

THE YOGA OF STILLNESS

9/11/2017

Picture
I probably attended my first yoga class in the early Seventies. But with a house full of small children, it was hard to get out to classes and so I found a 28-day yoga plan that I could do at home. There was a different sequence of postures for each day and I would get up early before the kids were up and get in some ‘me’ time by doing yoga.

LETS GIVE MEDITATION A GO!

30/7/2017

Picture

Have you ever wondered how to meditate? There are so many different types of meditation and many of them are shrouded in Eastern mysticism or special breathing techniques, visualisations, mantras, etc. and I’ve tried just about all of them, which led me to wonder . . .
Could there be a simpler way?
