One of the most common causes of the inability to fall asleep or of sleeplessness in the middle of the night is an over-active mind, whether it is just your normal run of the mill thinking or the activity of worrying. We are not physically doing whatever we are thinking about in this moment, so what is the point of ‘thinking’ about it? |
‘Thinking’ of things that happened during the day, or yesterday, or planning what you need to do tomorrow creates hyper-activity.
This audio, Body Awareness for Sleep, offers us an opportunity to still the mind by focusing the mind on our own body. Tuning into our body creates a natural ‘turning within’ that begins to prepare our body (and our mind) for sleep.
We can’t expect the body to go instantly from activity to sleep, so we need to allow the space to prepare for a rejuvenating sleep by building in a winding down period before bed. Listening to this audio can be part of that wind down space each evening, and can be enjoyed once you have put yourself into bed.
Joy of Ageing Esoterically is pleased to bring you this audio which will support quality sleep, and was recorded during a short Body Awareness for Sleep Yoga session presented by Vicky Geary .
