CELEBRATING MY MOTHER’S LIFE

29/6/2019

Picture
In 2017, my mother called me from overseas to say she felt she did not have long to live and could I please come home to sort out her house and to assist to get her affairs in order.

I have lived in Australia for most of my life and she had never asked me to go back before, so I jumped on a plane the next day, so I could be there to support.

DEATH OF MY PARENTS – FATHER

30/5/2019

Picture
In 2006 I started attending Universal Medicine workshops and presentations by Serge Benhayon. Over the years of attending my life has completely transformed in many positive ways because of these presentations of the Ageless Wisdom.

I came to understand that death is not an end but simply the beginning of another cycle,

DEATH OF MY PARENTS - MOTHER

29/4/2019

Picture

In 1991, at the age of 66, my mother died suddenly – however I was expecting her death. I was 28 and living in the UK at the time. I had a dream back in August 1990 where I was told “she died in July” so I was planning to go home to New Zealand in the June of 1991 but she died in March before I got home.

LAST DAYS ON EARTH – THE DYING PROCESS

30/3/2019

Picture

This is a window into how the dying process need not be a mournful affair. It is written by a woman who was caring for her mother who had bowel cancer. Eventually, after nine months, she had to put her mother into a nursing home as it became too difficult to look after her at home. This was written in the last few days of her mother’s life.

THERE IS NO TRUE CARE WITHOUT SELF-CARE

30/1/2019

Picture

As a carer, it is not only important to know how to truly care for someone else but also how to truly care for yourself.

I have learned a lot about caring and self-care over the last few years, having cared for a good friend who had cancer until she passed over at home, and living myself with breast cancer

REFLECTIONS ON THE PROCESS OF DYING AND PASSING OVER

2/12/2018

Picture
“I am having more fun dying than some people are having living”. T.H.
In 2004 my partner was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. What a deeply shocking day that was. Surprisingly though, he was actually initially relieved as he now had an explanation for some of the difficulties he had been experiencing over the previous months, such as pain and a problem with swallowing.

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES

30/10/2018

Picture
This morning I have woken with great joy in my heart, something that may be questioned by many, as three days ago my sister left this plane of life to begin another cycle in her return – a path that we follow as we evolve and unfold back to our essence. For the greater part of my adult life I have viewed death as the final moment, as the end of everything that we have experienced to this point.

THE BEAUTY OF DEATH AND DYING

29/9/2018

Picture
It’s not every day you can say that the greatest gift your father ever gave you was his departure.
Over the last years I have been witness to profound changes taking place within my father as he began the process of accepting and surrendering to the final phase of his life. These changes were varied and many, but essentially included:
 -
A greater understanding and appreciation of our life cycle and just how short one life is . . . .

BUCKET LISTS – TO WHAT END?

9/8/2018

Picture
In recent decades ‘bucket lists’ have become more and more in vogue. If you have not caught up with what bucket lists are, they are lists we make of things we want to have experienced,  done or achieved during our life – and in particular before we die. It could, for instance, be a balloon ride, a trip to New York, High Tea at the Ritz hotel, driving a racing car, learning a new language or running a marathon.

DEATH AND DYING - THE CYCLE OF LIFE AND DEATH

29/6/2018

Picture
I have often avoided the thought of dying. There are so many beliefs of how one should approach the subject. I had always seen death and dying to be full of doom, gloom and drama, which is perhaps why I had previously avoided being around anybody who was close to dying. The experience I had recently with my dear friend, who was terminally ill and dying, was quite revolutionary for me.
