Artist: Bernadette Curtin | In this world climate of locked down, locked up and locked out, how do we maintain our equanimity? Many people I have spoken to, including some of my own family members, are in disarray, divided against each other, anxious and fearful of a new enemy that they perceive is a threat to their life. |
The lockdown restrictions are keeping people separated from each other – at war – because of fear and beliefs they have taken on. I am now living in a country with borders that prevent families, workers and travellers from flying or driving interstate. Previously these borders only existed on a map. People from different states could move from one state to another unrestricted. It was one country. Now it feels like we are living in separate countries with strict restrictions being put in place by the individual State Premiers. People have to apply for Border Passes with conditions and rules that are regulated by the separate States.
Every single person that I speak to is affected, and the truth is that we are all feeling the tension and stress that is the current consciousness on the planet. We cannot avoid what is happening. Burying ourselves in Netflix, loading ourselves up with too much of the wrong food, or indulging in addictions, will leave us feeling very dull and impotent. If we give our power away to outside forces, we are lost. We are separated from the truth that lies within us – our sacred place that is inviolable.
The fact that we have been raised with belief systems that keep us small, doubting ourselves, sinners, lesser, insecure, anxious, and compressed, is now playing out on the world stage.
Does the world situation that we find ourselves in reflect the state of our inner being? Have we kept the love in our heart locked up, locked out and locked down?
We have all been hurt, whether as a child, by family members, or work colleagues, or employees or employers. We have all felt betrayed, let down, bullied and/or judged. Our defence is to build an armour of protection to guard against being hurt again. The hardness builds up in the body and we become disconnected from our sensitivity, our innate loveliness and delicateness.
Our physical liberty may be restricted, but nothing can touch the love and divinity that we come from, that is our natural birthright.
What this world situation has shown me, is that we are all connected. We are living in one sea of energy, and we are living as if we are all separate and independent beings. Hello individuality! Hello to building ourselves an identity. We strive to forge a picture of our self by constructing a way to be in the world. We drive our self to maintain that picture which reflects the beliefs and ideals that we have taken on. Our belief may be that life is a struggle, that we have to become rich, that we need to be in a position of control, that we need to be more religious, cunning, good or successful at something. The picture that best suits our construct of an identity may be that of a billionaire, pope, pauper, criminal or celebrity.
The current world situation is reflecting to us how we are living, what we are calling for, and how we have become so unwell. It is exposing our relationship with our self, our families, friends and work colleagues.
Locked up we have the opportunity to go within and ask our self with all honesty, are we keeping love locked out? And if the answer is yes, then how and where are we doing that?
Do we love our self with a depth that we can live and share with others?
We are all equally connected to a well of love unfathomably vast, magnificent. We all have equal access to our divinity.
Let’s open the door to love and let it in. Only then can we let it out for the world to enjoy and share. Let’s inspire by our lived way to reflect that love is the doorway to healing, to joy and harmony, to wisdom and true intelligence on this plane of life.
