Ageing is a process of honouring the body in cycles. As I ponder on my cycle of 67 years, it is not about getting old but a preparation for this cycle as an elder and what that means. As an elder I am preparing my body in every cycle of every year for the completion of this life and passing over to be reborn into the next life. I live my life with the understanding that each life is part of a continuous cycle of rebirth to completion. |
It does not matter if you are a baby, a child, teenager, adult or elder – we are all here as one going through the same cycle of birth, ageing and death.
Within that beautiful cycle called life there are many cycles and many opportunities for how we choose to live, in the learning of life and in the oneness of the all, as one.
Being an elder is something I cherish and honour in deep sacredness in that there is a deeper meaning in these cycles of life as we are coming through each decade from the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties or even 100. How long we will live no one knows. But the focus is not on getting old, the emphasis and focus is on my livingness in my everyday life and what quality I am bringing in every detail of every part of life.
I am getting a deeper sense of being an elder and the responsibility that brings for the all, for I am not only an elder for my family but for all of humanity.
Each day is to be lived in the honouring of my body – the qualities, experiences, wisdom and deep knowing of my movements and expression.
It is what I am expressing in reflection to the world for all to feel the love that we truly are.
Old is not old, but a cycle that is part of everyone’s life (if we are lucky!) Living each day is part of a bigger cycle, be it a week, month, season, year, decade or lifetime. All the cycles are the one life when attended to in The Livingness.
The Livingness is a way that is lived so that you have the energy to live with vitality in everything you do and that your body is attended to in a nurturing, self-caring, and self-loving way. In that, you do not feel empty as if something is missing in life, but you feel the fullness and enrichment that all of life brings to all equally. And in that you live life to the fullest in joy, harmony, stillness, truth and a depth of love. You live in a deeper level of settlement so that everything and anything is not a burden or an excuse or a struggle but a blessing, knowing that there is more to life than getting old.
It is the enrichment of who you truly are, in the uniqueness of the qualities, expression, love in movement and most of all, in the knowing that you are complete in every way, in just being you as a being, and as an ‘Elder in Elder Energy for Humanity’ in the grace and beauty in movement as an Elder, and as God in true expression.
The gracefulness that I bring and feel each day through my movements in The Livingness, appreciating what once was and what is now, is in the acceptance, appreciation, honouring, in the deep knowing and responsibility of loving each part of the cycle of being an elder in elder energy. Living as a part of the oneness we all belong to, and bringing that reflection, all are enriched by our every movement.
