People are feeling more fearful about the unknown, about their health, about their work being impacted or losing their jobs, along with all that comes with many having to separate from family and friends. We are yet to see the full impact that COVID-19 is going to have globally long-term not only financially but also on our mental state of health. |
In this unprecedented and difficult time it is even more important for us to stay steady, self-care, and look after each other.
As well as remaining connected to our families and friends, it is important for us to be very resourceful during lockdown and after the restrictions have been lifted. We can use this time as an opportunity to review how we are taking care of ourselves, with nourishing meals, good quality sleep, staying present and not getting caught up in the fear and anxiousness, and exercising our bodies to stay active and strong. How we exercise affects our sense of wellbeing, our moods and vitality.
Our bodies need and love to move, so let’s move them! Exercising from a place of connection and honouring the body is going to offer the most benefit.
The ageing body particularly loves gentle exercise and welcomes the many benefits such as increasing mobility, building strength and flexibility. We know that exercise supports with developing greater bone density and builds more confidence and independence.
This simple 30 minute Connection & Core exercise class focuses on supporting you to gently strengthen core muscles. The free video class offers various modifications to suit all levels. The core muscles are so important for our posture and back support.
Donna Nolan has a love of working with the body. She has been teaching yoga and exercise classes for close to twenty years and is passionate about supporting people to exercise in a gentle and connected way.
